INTEGRATED PROJECT (ARC60904)
Architectural Project Management is a module that introduces the principles, techniques, and managerial practices involved in the successful delivery of architectural projects. It provides students with an understanding of project management processes, organizational structures, project team roles, and the responsibilities of key stakeholders throughout a project's life cycle. Through project-based learning, students develop practical skills in project planning, building plan submission, and professional management to prepare for architectural practice.
Group Project 1: Sustainable System in a City
Assignment 1 requires students to work in groups to prepare a complete set of building plan submission documents for the Architectural Design V Final Project. The assignment focuses on developing working drawings that comply with statutory submission requirements while demonstrating knowledge of construction, building technology, materials, and structural systems. Through this project, students gain practical experience in the building plan submission process and interdisciplinary coordination required in professional architectural practice.
Individual Project 2: Architectural Project Proposal, Reflective Writing & Exit Interview
Assignment 2 requires students to present their final Architectural Design V project through an Architectural Project Proposal, Reflective Writing, and Exit Interview. The assignment focuses on demonstrating students' understanding of project management principles, architectural terminologies, systems planning, and professional responsibilities. Through the project report and interview, students apply the knowledge and skills acquired throughout the module while reflecting on their leadership, decision-making, and readiness for professional architectural practice.
REFLECTION
"Throughout the Architectural Project Management module, I developed a broad range of Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC) through both group and individual assignments.
In Assignment 1, the preparation of building plan submission documents strengthened my Thinking and Problem-Solving Skills by applying statutory requirements, construction knowledge, and technical documentation to produce coordinated working drawings. The group-based nature of the assignment also enhanced my Intrapersonal Skills, encouraging self-management, responsibility, and continuous improvement throughout the design and documentation process.
In Assignment 2, the Architectural Project Proposal, Reflective Writing, and Exit Interview further strengthened my Digital Literacy through the effective use of digital tools for project documentation, presentation, and communication. At the same time, the reflective components fostered my Communication Skills by improving my ability to present project proposals, articulate design decisions, and confidently discuss project management concepts during the exit interview.
Collectively, these learning experiences have enhanced my professional competence, leadership, and critical thinking, preparing me to manage architectural projects effectively while contributing responsibly to future professional practice."​​​
